Leg symptoms
Sciatica & Leg Symptoms
Evaluation of low-back, hip, buttock, and leg symptoms that may involve nerve irritation, muscles, joints, or other causes.
Individualized evaluation
Start with a careful history and examination.
Dr. Lee considers symptom behavior, movement, strength, sensation, health history, prior injury, and the activities you want to improve.
- Pain traveling into the buttock or leg
- Tingling or numbness
- Symptoms affected by sitting or movement
- Low-back stiffness
- Changes in walking or activity tolerance
Appropriate next steps
Care may include treatment, guidance, or referral.
Depending on the findings, options may include chiropractic care, acupuncture, rehabilitation, home guidance, coordination with another provider, or additional medical evaluation.
Safety note
The word sciatica describes symptoms rather than one cause. Progressive weakness, bowel or bladder changes, saddle-area numbness, severe trauma, fever, or rapidly worsening symptoms require urgent medical evaluation.
